 Black and White

There's something very simple about black and white photography.  It grabs your attention in a different way than colour photos do.  It draws your eye to something specific.  I find I can linger at a black and white photo for a long time and just take it in.  They're rarely a cluttered photo as then it's easy to miss what the focal point is.  It's that simplicity that grabs you and keeps you mesmerized, soaking in the finer details.

Cool Creatures

Having only boys growing up in the house it didn't take long for me to be introduced to many little creatures.  If it wasn't for their inquisitive minds I would never have known all these little guys even existed so close to me!  My boys didn't have to go far to find a praying mantis or tree siren or some other crazy bug we'd have to look up to find out what they were.  But it was so much fun and I started to truly enjoy photographing all of these wonderful little creatures!  When you start to see them up close they can be truly magnificent!

On The Farm

My Mom and Dad still live on the home farm and I always enjoy going back and spending time there.  Even though my parents are retired and are no longer farming themselves they rent out their land and crops are grown and harvested every year.  Right across the road a neighboring farm pastures many different animals and they are a lot of fun to watch.    My Mom loves to garden and her flowers are gorgeous and I of course love to photograph them!  I spend a lot of time when I'm there wondering around with my camera in tow and I never run out of things to photograph.  All the while memories flowing of days gone by when with the imagination of a child hopes and dreams were limitless.
